Went to the IKEA store with my mom today before work. She's gonna buy me a couch... SWEET. I'm thinking it's gonna be yellow. At any rate, their removeable slipcovers come in several colors so it's no big deal.
That store is a serious piece of work... between that and Morrissey, my life is finally starting to make sense.
Bought the Interpol CD Antics... like it.
Anyways, I'm out.

Reasons that Ikea rocks:
1. They have everything from kitchen utinsels to wall art to tables and rugs... damn near everything.
1A. There is a ton of this stuff and it fills up a gigantic 2-story store bigger than a super Wal-Mart that takes damn near all day to see everything (they even have a restaurant inside).
2. It's all super fucking cool looking (better than target).
3. It's all super fucking cheap. Like, wicked bad cheap. Like, $20 end-table cheap.
If you go, you will understand.
And there are no fucking yin-yang tables there so don't even ask.

Ikea and Interpol
And Ikea is like upscale Euro-design Walmart where all the products have cute names. I mean not to flavor it badly by comparing it to the shame of Bentonville, AR (or wherever the f- Wally is hq'd) but it is Everyman's low-price design store. And it rocks because it's from Sweden, and because most of the food they sell there is Swedish. I mean where else can you buy hip furniture for pennies, feel like you took a field trip, and eat swedish meatballs and lingonberry juice? Then you get home with your haul and the directions have cute pictures for how to assemble things and oh-mi-god the chocolate. I've said enough. Oh yeah, and then there's that escalator that will carry your shopping cart. And the coolest shopping carts in the world what with their performance turning radius. At least out west it's like that. I have yet to visit the Dallas one.J, glad you like Antics! Interpol is one of my faves. Their first album is really good also, has a great NY song. They're touring right now, see if they're coming through Texas! Check out The Decembrists too, if you like. Not anything like Interpol. My music diving is quite limited but those are two I've taken a shine to.
